ADMIN BUILDING RENOVATION UPDATE

We’re getting closer to the handover date for the first stage of the renovation works. The final week of term is expected to be a busy one, as we’ll be moving classrooms and administration areas out of the current admin building and into the new spaces in line with the decanting plan.

In preparation, please take some time to review your area, clean up, and dispose of anything that’s no longer needed (Please remember to break down any boxes before placing them in the recycle bins). The more we make use of the bins now, the smoother things will run later.

If you have items, you no longer require, please send out a message to see if anyone else can make use of them. If there are no takers, contact Sue so we can arrange a suitable storage area.

Please avoid shifting items from one area to another, where they might become someone else’s responsibility. If you have something you don’t want, let Sue know and we’ll find an appropriate place for it.

Starting this process early will make things much easier come December.

Important dates for both the Junior and Senior Campuses

Thursday 20 November:  TBC: the internet will be unavailable for an hour due to the server relocation.

Tuesday 2 December: TBC -  the internet will be unavailable all day due to the relocation of IT equipment.

More information to come.

Thanks to all AEU supporters

Thank you to the members or our CPS AEU Sub Branch and supporters who wore your red t-shirts during the visit of Hon. John Berger, MLC.  Julian, Stefan and I met with him briefly in Janet's office, where we presented him with a letter requesting that he addresses our concerns over government funding cuts with the Education Minister and the Treasurer. We also highlighted specific challenges we face at CPS due to lack of funding for teaching resources. He has asked for a follow-up email summary, so please let us know ASAP if you have any CPS issues relating to lack of funding that you would like to us to include.

I have also sent details of our actions and a photo to our Regional Organiser, Matthew Burke, who is driving the campaign for our region.

Premier's Reading Challenge certificates

Certificates for students who completed the 2025 challenge have now been sorted by class and will be delivered to YLC Leaders this week. Please could classroom teacher hand them out. Names of students will then be read out in the whole school assembly in Week 9, since individual certificate presentation would take too long.

Thank you!

Keeping the Kitchens Clean - just common decency

Mindful of ensuring that we all enjoy a clean and healthy kitchen, it is important that we put away our dishes/cups/ cutlery and that we clean the benches, and kitchen appliances.

Whilst teams are requested to support, it is up to us all to make sure that the kitchen is hygienic.

Dish washer:

It is important to ensure that the dishwasher is stacked and emptied in a timely manner.

Don't make assumptions - Check... is it still on?

Perhaps the cycle has finished and you can unload it for your colleagues!
