SoE Meeting Changes

I do apologise when you book in and my calendar changes in between times. I will try to keep it updated. Please contact Joanna if you need to reschedule and cannot see a convenient time in the PDP/ SoE document.

Janet

PDP, SoE, PLC and TRIADS

The feedback has been very powerful about the benefit of

  • PLC/FISO cycles
    • the benefit of working with teachers from other year levels
    • having differentiated professional learning foci

  • PDP, SoE
    • include leadership roles
    • include coaching

In 2026 we will implement a more flexible model for our Professional Learning Communities and update the PDP/SoE process.

Based on teacher input, PLCs will be organised based on goals.

This will mean that some terms, our PLCs may be mixed, sub schools or year level teams.

Feedback from this afternoon's PL will be used to determine Term 1 PLCs.

More information to come.

Janet

Message being sent to the Community:

Recognising and celebrating Trans Awareness Week

The Department of Education has a clear commitment to ensuring all Victorian government schools are respectful, safe and inclusive places of learning and work for all students, staff and members of our school communities.

As part of this commitment, the department is supporting all schools to join other schools and workplaces across the country to recognise and celebrate Trans Awareness Week (Thursday 13 November to Wednesday 19 November 2025).

This is to support trans and gender diverse young people in our schools and the community. This is in accordance with obligations in the Child Safe Standards to uphold diversity and equity for everyone regardless of their background, characteristics or beliefs.

We welcome anyone at our school who wants to mark the day to do so.

For more information about the day, refer to Minus18’s Trans Awareness Week resources.

If you have any enquiries about this initiative, you can contact the department by email: enquiries@education.vic.gov.au

Thank you,

Janet Gale

Thank you to the huge team who played a part in the 2026 Foundation Teddy Bear Picnic last Friday. This included the wonderful assistants, Year 5 teachers, Year 5 students, Foundation teachers, Year 1 teachers, Kelly D, Rachel P, PSW, Nancy and Janet. All roles, large or small, contributed to the success of this much-loved event and it couldn't have run without you. Un grand merci du fond du cœur!!

Up next: 2026 Foundation Transition Sessions

Please keep in mind that the Foundation teachers will be running the transition sessions for the incoming 2026 cohort over Weeks 7, 8 and 9. Four sessions will run each week. We thank you in advance for your support and understanding as we navigate the organisation of this whilst continuing the learning program for our current Foundation cohort.
