Well done everyone for getting into the Book Week Spirit!!
Middle School News
Middle school students have continued to learn about the Roman Empire this fortnight. We dived deeper into understanding how Romans designed bridges, roads and aqueducts and this impact this had on human history. Comparing architectural features has also been interesting to see across the Roman Empire!
In Text Construction, students have introduced to complex sentences and the difference between dependent and independent clauses. This will remain a focus over the next week as we experiment with using a range of subordinating conjunctions
.
In Maths, students have been applying their knowledge of time to work through some problem solving tasks. Students have continued to use clocks and number lines as tools to help solve these questions.
Reminders
Students should be reading for at least 20 minutes each night. When students read at home, please remind them to log it in their diary to receive a TPS Token for Excellence.
Please ensure iPads are charged overnight before bringing them to school each morning.
Science News
Junior Science Request – Donations Needed
Dear Parents and Carers,
In Junior Science next week (Week 7) and the week following (Week 8), Year 1/2 students will be investigating sound and creating their own musical instruments. To make this possible, we are seeking donations of the following items:
- Empty Tissue boxes (many needed!)
- Shoe boxes or other rectangular boxes
- Kitchen roll tubes
- Clean plastic bottles
- Clean tins
If you are able to contribute, please send these items to school with your child as soon as possible. Your support will help our students explore and create in a hands-on, engaging way.
Thank you for your generosity!
Kind regards,
Orla Teague.
Senior School Science
To celebrate Science Week, our middle school students designed and created paper planes for a friendly competition. This tied in with the 2025 Science Week theme, “Innovation: Powering Future Industries,” encouraging students to think creatively about design, experimentation, and problem-solving.
🏑 P.E. with Mr Arnold🏏 ⚾️
This term in Physical Education, students at Teesdale Primary School have been swinging into action with a focus on Bat and Stick sports. We kicked things off with T-Ball and Baseball, which proved to be a real hit, literally! From there, we transitioned into Cricket, where our budding athletes had the incredible opportunity to learn from the pros during a full day of clinics run by visiting coaches from Cricket Victoria.
More recently, our attention has turned to Field Hockey. Senior students have been sharpening their skills under the guidance of expert coaches from Hockey Geelong, while Mr Arnold has been working closely with junior and middle students to build their confidence and technique.
Despite the chilly mornings, the weather has mostly been kind, allowing us to enjoy our sessions outdoors. More importantly, our students have been shining by living out the Teesdale school values in every game and activity. They’ve shown:
• Respect for equipment, teammates, and their teacher
• Honesty by playing fairly and following the rules
• Excellence through effort and enthusiasm
• Resilience by staying positive and persistent
• Friendship by collaborating in teams and supporting one another
👏 A huge well done to all our students!
