Mr Irwin's Message

Hello Families and welcome to this week’s newsletter.

Book Week

It was wonderful to see so many of you at Friday’s Book Week Parade. The weather conditions weren’t ideal but thankfully we were able to huddle under the COLA and enjoy the student’s parading their costumes.

Book Week is a timely reminder about the joy and importance reading brings. Our school leaders shared some of the benefits of reading at home every day at assembly. The evidence is clear that engaging in reading on a daily basis at home improves student wellbeing and academic performance in so many ways. Whilst night time routines at home can be hectic, it’s a great chance to reflect on how much you value reading at home as a family.

Friday afternoon was also a great chance to showcase the amazing dioramas that students in the junior, middle and senior schools have been working on. I was impressed with the quality of these and enjoyed having a look through the gallery on Friday afternoon. Well Done to Mrs Biscan and the students for completing such great work, and also a huge thanks to the parents who not only spent the day running the Father’s Day stall, but took the time to help setup the display of dioramas too!

Parent Opinion Survey

Later this week families will receive an invitation via email to complete the Parent/Carer Opinion Survey. This is an important piece of feedback that we really value as a school. It provides great feedback to us as a school and helps us reflect on how we’re going and how we can seek to improve. The survey is anonymous and usually takes around 15-20 minutes to complete. When you do receive this survey we’d love to have as many families as possible dedicate some time to complete it. The more families we have complete the survey the better!

Bye for now and have a great week!
