Classroom News

This is what our students have been up to this week.

Year 6 and their buddies

This term, the Grade 6 class have been learning how to write narratives for a younger audience.

To find out what types of stories are appealing to young readers, the Grade 6 students interviewed their Prep and Year 1 buddies to get the inside scoop!

The Grade 6 class studied lots of picture books for inspiration and even consulted with real life author, Angela Toniolo, for more writing tips.

Rhyming, repetition and animal characters were popular features in the books we read, with many of the Grade 6 students incorporating these into their own work.

The final task was to create a picture book especially for our student buddies, which we will give to them on Friday. The finished books are incredible and a testament to the hard work and learning that has gone into their creation.
