Two New Saints for Our Time: Carlo Acutis & Pier Giorgio Frassati
We’re thrilled to share the exciting news that Carlo Acutis and Pier Giorgio Frassati have officially been declared saints by the Church! These two young men, known for their deep faith, love for the poor, and joyful witness to Christ, are now recognised as models of holiness for our generation. Carlo, a teenager from Italy who used his tech skills to share the Eucharist and the Church's scientifically studied miracles, online, reminds us that sainthood is possible in everyday life, even in jeans and sneakers! Pier Giorgio, a passionate mountaineer and advocate for the poor, shows us how faith and action go hand in hand. Their lives inspire us to live with purpose, courage, and love. May their example encourage all of us at St Anthony’s to follow Jesus more closely and discover the unique mission God has for each of us. You can watch a short clip here:

Ways to Celebrating our Catholic faith through September!
September is full of beautiful feast days that can spark meaningful conversations and moments of prayer at home. Here are a few simple ways families can connect faith with everyday life:
Sept 8 Nativity of Mary: Bake a birthday cake for Mary! Talk about how God chose her to be the mother of Jesus and how we can say “yes” to God in our own lives.
Sept 14 Exaltation of the Holy Cross: Place a cross in a special spot at home. Share what the cross means to each family member, as a symbol of hope, love, sacrifice, or strength.
Sept 15 Our Lady of Sorrows: Light a candle and pray for someone who is suffering. Mary understands pain, she walks with us in hard times.
Sept 21 Feast of St Matthew: Take some quiet time together to read the story of St. Matthew’s call (Matthew 9:9–13). Then, invite each family member to share one way they can follow Jesus more closely this week, whether through kindness, honesty, or helping someone in need.
Sept 23 St. Padre Pio: Try a moment of quiet prayer together. St. Pio loved silence and listening to God. Ask: “Where do we feel God’s presence?”
Sept 29 Feast of the Archangels: Draw or name your guardian angel. The Church teaches that each one of us is assigned a guardian angel at the moment of our conception. The angel is there to guide and protect us through life. Talk about how angels protect and guide us, maybe a moment where you felt like there was an angel protecting or guiding you, and say a short prayer of thanks.
