From the Principal's Desk

Week 6
ACOS has arrived!! Finally after months of rehearsals, the time has arrived where our students get to show the town their fabulous commitment and talent. Our stage 2 and 3 students are involved in a combined item we hope to share with our school in the coming weeks, along with students in the Aboriginal dancing, massed choir, massed dance and massed orchestra.
A huge thank you to Mrs Townsend and Miss Randall for the amount of work they have put into choreographing our Stage 2 and 3 item and Mrs Clendinning with the choir ensuring our students have this opportunity. Thank you also to Mrs Clarke who made the Stage 2 shirts and our wonderful parents, carers and teachers who have supported along the way.

Sporting News
Congratulations to Nixon, who is in Ballina this week playing football in the NSW PSSA football State Championships. Play fair, play hard and have fun!
Last week Beau Matthew represented NW at the PSSA touch football in Dubbo. Well done Beau Matthew. I love how one of your big take-aways were the friendships you made!
Congratulations to all our students who represented MGPS at the PSSA Athletics carnival that had more starts than Pharlap! Finally we ended up having to head down the hill to Tamworth to be able to use the all weather track. It ended up being a beautiful day and although it was new learning for all, the carnival got done with our students getting the opportunity to run on a synthetic track!
Our Senior Boys relay came 2nd and will travel to the Northwest carnival along with Olivia, Oliver, Nixon, Rikki, Emma and Lia for individual results.
Thank you to our P&C and the helpers who came to the rescue to help with the canteen and BBQ to ensure a canteen ran for the day. Mr Gilbody sure does cook a mean sausage! A huge thank you to the Clontarf students from Tamworth High who also helped all day.
Stage 3 Guessing Competition
Stage 3 will be running a Guessing Competition to raise money for the Stage 3 camp to Coffs Harbour. Year 6 leaders will be coming around to each class and taking guesses for a gold coin over the next 3 Fridays for lolly jars. There is a lolly jar per stage to be won!! The winner will be announced in the assembly of week 9.
You Can do It!
Students can be like Connie Confidence when making new friends by thinking 'I am likeable, and people will want to play with me'. They can also be like Connie Confident when doing hard work by thinking: 'This is hard, but I can do it'. 'I am not afraid to make mistakes, that’s how I learn'.
Have a lovely week!
