Hello SMPS students and families!

My name is Miss Megan and I will be teaching 6A in 2026. This will be my ninth year in teaching and my eighth year at SMPS. I have taught our future Year 6 students when they were in Year 3, so I am really looking forward to spending more time getting to know all the students and their families.

I grew up in Canada and moved to Melbourne until 2017. I spent most of my childhood outside with my family, including camping or playing in the snow nearly every weekend and going on long hikes and canoe trips. Before I became a teacher, I worked at a Summer Camp for five years, which explains why I love organising and going on School Camp so much now as a teacher!

Outside of school, I love to spend time outside, exercise, read and cook. I also love to sing and am part of a choir.

I am really looking forward to another amazing year in Year 6 at SMPS!

Hello Wonderful SMPS Community,

My name is Miss Taylah, and I will be teaching 6B in 2026. This will be my first year teaching and I am super excited to get to know all the students and their families.

I grew up in rural Victoria, in a small country town called Yarrawonga. As a child I spent time by Lake Mulwala, swimming in the river and exploring the Pangerang bushland. It was especially fun befriending the local wildlife (mainly kangaroos) and the occasional magpie. I moved to Melbourne in 2022 to complete my studies at Australian Catholic University.

Outside of school you can find me drawing, reading or strolling through the stalls at Queen Victoria Market. I also have a cat named after my favourite herb, Basil!

I am really looking forward to an amazing year at SMPS and can't wait to meet you all

Hello SMPS Students and Families,

My name is Miss Emily, and I’m so excited to be your child’s teacher at South Melbourne Primary School in 2025. I already can’t wait to meet them, learn all about who they are, and spend the year growing, laughing, and learning together.

I’ve lived in Victoria my whole life and absolutely love Melbourne. When I’m not in the classroom, you’ll usually find me out for a run, trying new pastries, or catching up with friends and family. I also love adventure - one of my favourite memories is hiking to Everest Base Camp in Nepal!

Wishing you all a happy, restful holiday break. I’m really looking forward to an amazing year ahead in 2025.

Warmest regards,

Miss Emily
