Last Monday, our Primary School gathered in St Elias Chapel for a very special Adoration Day of Prayer for our beloved student, Zachariah Cortese.
From Kindergarten through to Year 6, each class came before the Blessed Sacrament, joining their voices with our Maronite Sisters, teachers, and staff to beg the Lord’s mercy and healing. Together, we prayed with faith and hope:“God of Mercy and Compassion, have mercy and heal Zachariah.”
Throughout the day, our children prayed litanies of healing, sang songs of trust, and spent moments in silent adoration before Jesus, present in the Eucharist. With one heart, we asked the Lord to heal Zachariah and to strengthen his family with courage, faith, and peace.
It was a deeply moving and powerful day of prayer — a true witness of faith in action. We thank all Sisters, teachers, staff, and students who participated so reverently. United in prayer, we continue to place Zachariah in the loving Heart of Jesus, our Divine Healer.

Our school community came together to celebrate Father’s Day with a beautiful Mass, honouring the special role fathers and father figures play in the lives of our students. It was a joyful occasion filled with gratitude, prayer, and reflection. Following Mass, families enjoyed a lovely morning tea, providing a wonderful opportunity for dads, grandfathers, and carers to connect with one another and share in the celebration.

Recently, MCHF was honoured to be invited by Our Lady of Mercy Place to create a mural for their facility. The mural was designed to embody the core values of Mercy Health and to bring vibrant colour and life to the environment.
I want to extend heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at OLMP for trusting us to bring this vision to life. Special appreciation goes to the Year 10 volunteers Danielle, Daniella, and Grace, whose enthusiasm and hard work were invaluable in painting the mural, as well as to Mrs. Hani and Sister Juliette for their artistic support throughout the project.
It was truly a pleasure to give back to the community, and we hope that everyone at OLMP will enjoy and be inspired by the mural for years to come.

Last Friday, our Year 6 students embraced a powerful Reflection Day centred on the theme “Called to Be Saints.” With Mass, Reconciliation, Talk, Adoration, Guided meditation, and Group activities, the day inspired students to recognise their personal call to holiness and deepen their faith as they prepare for secondary school.

This week, Year 3 participated in a meaningful session with Sister Rita as part of their preparation for the Sacrament of First Reconciliation. The children were gently guided to reflect on their conscience and consider the importance of making good choices, helping them to understand the significance of saying sorry and seeking forgiveness.

What a joyful day and a milestone to remember!
Our Year 3 students came together at Our Lady Of Lebanon Co-Cathedral to celebrate their First Reconciliation — a beautiful moment of God’s mercy, prayer, and thanksgiving.
Surrounded by families and teachers, they rejoiced with song and smiles in the gift of God’s love, a celebration that will stay in their hearts forever.

On Tuesday, 16 September 2025, some of our Year 8 and 9 students had the chance to attend the Lifted Go – Launch of the Social Justice Statement 2025–2026: Signs of Hope on the Edge – Serving Homeless People with Mental Ill-Health, for schools in the Diocese of Parramatta. Students engaged in various activities around the theme, focusing on “Noticing – Knowing – Serving.” Margarita BouFarraa, a participating student, reflected on the day as follows:
“Attending the Lifted GO excursion was a truly eye-opening and inspiring experience. The conference centred around the pressing issues of homelessness and mental health, and it was incredible to see so many students from different schools come together with a shared passion for social justice. Each group brought their own unique ideas and perspectives, and it was powerful to witness the creativity and compassion that filled the room. Engaging in meaningful conversations and hearing real stories helped deepen my understanding of how these issues affect people in our communities. I left the day feeling uplifted, motivated, and more connected to the idea that we all have a role to play in creating a more inclusive and supportive world”.
Over the past few weeks, our amazing students have been actively participating in the homeless feed, showing kindness, empathy, and a strong sense of community. A heartfelt thank you to the teachers who have joined and supported them.

In September, Mr. Sassine led a faith formation session for secondary students, offering an engaging and meaningful exploration of the Maronite Mass.

In Term 3, Year 11 students had the chance to visit the aged care facility twice along with some Y9 students. Below is a reflection shared by one of the students:
Today, we had the privilege of visiting the aged care residents across the road with Sr Juliette and Ms Macura, a few Yr 9 students, and some of my Year 11 peers. From the moment we stepped inside, we were overwhelmed with joy and happiness. The elderly welcomed us with claps and warm smiles.
As part of our visit, we prepared a little treat for their morning/afternoon tea, made from corn flakes, butter, and honey. Seeing their faces light up as we served them was a beautiful reminder of how meaningful even the smallest acts of kindness can be.
We spent time talking, laughing, and connecting with them, and it was clear how much they enjoyed our company. Their gratitude was genuine, and they made us feel like our presence truly mattered.
This visit reminded us of the power of compassion and community. We are so thankful to have shared this moment together and to have brought some happiness into their day, just as they brought joy into ours. On behalf of Year 11, we hope to return soon. (Georgia A. Y11)
