An AmusA for Isabel Wong
Long overdue congratulations are in order for Isabel Wong, who successfully completed her AmusA in Violin Performance last year and was awarded her diploma earlier this year. Isabel, a student of Mrs Moxey, worked with diligence and musicality to prepare an extended program of advanced repertoire for this exacting exam, which requires candidates to perform with maturity and a refined level of musicianship.
Congratulations on your outstanding result Isabel! We are so proud of your achievements!
Ella Kerdic, Certificate of Performance
Congratulations to Year 9 flautist Ella Kerdic, who has received a High Distinction in her Certificate of Performance (flute) examination. Ella has worked conscientiously over the last year, developing a 35 minute recital that she performed with nuanced stylistic understanding and technical assurance.
Congratulations Ella!
SSO PLAYERLINK – Phoebe Wong
Year 9 musician Phoebe Wong recently attended an intensive three-day orchestral workshop with members of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. Phoebe was selected from school aged musicians across NSW and was awarded the position of first clarinet – a wonderful honour!
Congratulations on your selection into Playerlink Phoebe!
Monday 15 September
Year 11 Music students will be attending a loop pedal workshop with Australian saxophonist and composer, Nick Russoniello. Nick has worked with many of Australia’s premier orchestras and is a member of the award-winning Nexas Saxophone Quartet.
Nick is currently undertaking an Australian tour, presenting his Air Mass show at Orange Regional Gallery at 3pm on Sunday 14 September. Air Mass redefines the boundaries of the solo saxophone recital and combines extreme saxophone playing, audience generated sounds, live looping, body percussion and more.
We’d strongly recommend our students attend Nick’s performance, find out more here and purchase tickets HERE.
Don't forget to purchase your tickets for our Grand Piano raffle, which features some amazing prizes! Please reach out to your families and friends to support our fundraising and have the chance to win.
