As the HSC Trial exams begin this week, we offer our sincere encouragement to our Year 12 students. You’ve shown dedication, resilience, and a strong commitment to your learning. These trials are an opportunity to reflect that effort and growth. Take each exam as it comes, stay focused, and trust in the preparation you’ve done.
Remember:
Believe in your ability.
NSW Education – Tips from former HSC Students on Study.
Last week, we had the privilege of meeting with a number of outstanding Year 11 students as part of the interview process for the 2026 School Prefect positions. To all who participated—thank you and congratulations. Your enthusiasm, maturity, and genuine desire to serve our school community were evident and deeply appreciated. We commend each of you for stepping forward and embracing this opportunity to lead. It takes courage and commitment to put yourself forward, and we are proud of the way you represented yourselves and your peers.
The selection process will continue over the coming weeks, with input from both staff and student voting. Final recommendations will then be submitted to Dr Parry for confirmation of next year’s student leadership team.
Sincere thanks to Ms Dunkley, Ms Kite, Mrs Whittemore, Mr Perrin, and Mr Byrne for their time and support throughout the interview process.
Wear It Purple Day is a meaningful reminder of our shared commitment to ensuring that every student feels safe, supported, and valued at school. At the heart of our community is a deep respect for diversity and a dedication to fostering a culture where all students can thrive.
This day is not only about raising awareness of gender diversity—it’s about affirming our values through action. It calls us to stand together against bullying, stereotyping, and discrimination, and to actively promote understanding, acceptance, and kindness.
On Friday 29 August, students are invited to wear mufti in support of this important cause. A range of inclusive and engaging activities will take place during our Wellbeing time, designed to celebrate individuality and strengthen our sense of community.
We extend our sincere thanks to Mr Smedley and the senior students of Williams House for their leadership and commitment to this annual event. Their efforts continue to inspire and shape a more inclusive school environment for all.
Kinross Wolaroi School will celebrate the Class of 2025 with a series of special events, beginning with the Farewell and Blessing on Thursday 25 September, followed by a Mentor House lunch, lap of honour, shirt signing, and Showcase.
The formal Graduation Ceremony will take place on Friday 26 September at 12:00pm in the Derek Pigot Auditorium, with all Year 12 students expected in full uniform. Due to space limitations, Year 7 students - except for those with Year 12 siblings and members of the Orchestra - will be excused from attending school on this day.
The Graduation Ball will be held on Friday 7 November at the Orange Function Centre, featuring dinner, dancing, and family photos. Details regarding this event can be found in the attachments below.
Tickets can be purchased for the Graduation Celebration HERE
Each year at Graduation a special award is given to any Year 12 student who is the third generation (or more) of their family to attend Kinross Wolaroi School – the ‘Family Heritage Award’. As our database does not always identify the links between family generations, we ask that Year 12 families inform us if their child falls into this category.
If this is the case, please notify Ms Claire Milson, PA to the Principal, via email at principalpa@kws.nsw.edu.au so that your child can be placed on the list for this award.
Please supply the names of the past generations of your family who attended, as well as their graduation year (if known) in your correspondence. Once supplied, this information will be added to the school database.
The deadline for submitting this information is 9 September.
