Principal's Update

Dear Parents and Carers,
Tomorrow we celebrate the Feast of the Assumption of Mary, our patron saint. The Assumption signals the end of Mary's earthly life and marks her return to heaven to be reunited with her son Jesus.
God, we celebrate the Assumption of Mary, who, body and soul, was taken into heaven to be reunited with her son Jesus. We thank you for her example of faith and love, her "yes" to your will, and her unwavering trust in your promises. We ask that Mary may guide us in all that we do in our daily lives.
Amen.
Prep Enrolment Acceptance Letters
Over the past few weeks we have been working hard to finalise our 2026 Prep enrolments. Last week letters were sent out to new families. Letters for existing families are being sent home this week with the eldest child. So that we are able to finalise numbers, I ask that you please return your forms to the office ASAP.
Wheels on Wednesday
Yesterday we began our Term 3 Wheels on Wednesday and the children had a fun time. Children are able to bring their roller skates, skateboards or scooters and ride them in the car park during break times each Wednesday for the remainder of the term. Please ensure that they bring a helmet that has been adjusted for them to wear. Please note that the children need to be given permission to participate for the rest of the term. These details have been uploaded on PAM.
Book Week Parade
A reminder that next Friday 22nd August is our Book Week Parade. Children are encouraged to wear a costume of their favourite book character to school. We have our parade first thing in the morning and then do various literature activities throughout the day. This is always a great day that the children look forward to each year.
Write A Book In A Day
Last Thursday some children from Grade 6 participated in a statewide competition, whereby they had to write and publish a book in one day. The children were given a specific topic and their challenge was to plan, draft, illustrate, publish and produce a book in a set time frame. The children worked extremely hard and collaboratively all day, beginning at 8.00am and concluding at 6.30pm. A big congratulations to Zoe Featherston, Will Black, Ella Masangcay, Tessa Hay, Indi Angus, Hamish Dent, Taya Egan, Scarlett Ogle, Tabitha Roberts and Ean Soliman. Thank you to Miriam, Maegen, Jess and Jodie who organized and worked with the children on the project. We look forward to reading the book during our Book Week activities.
Liza to Replace Gemma
I wish to inform parents that our Prep teacher, Gemma Blake, will commence her parental leave at the beginning of Term 4. Gemma’s replacement for the term will be Liza Alexander. Liza is a qualified teacher who has been working in the Prep classrooms as a LSO throughout the year. She has worked closely with the staff and Prep students, so this will be a seamless transition. We will organize a handover meeting time for parents to meet with Gemma and Liza before the end of the term. Times and dates will be sent out in the coming weeks.
Enjoy the rest of your week.
