Celebrate Stories – Meet the Authors Who Write Them
While we have the opportunity to host author talks at the Ironside Library from time to time, taking your child to a book launch or author event is another fantastic way to nurture their love of reading. In these smaller, more personal settings, you can explore the inspiration behind a story, chat with the author, and gain tips for budding writers. We recently spotted an upcoming launch for Brisbane author Charlotte Barkla's latest historical fiction (recommended mid to upper primary), whose books are always in high demand in our library.
Book Week Incursion - Perform Education
As part of Ironside's Book Week celebrations, the Book Week team have organised an exciting incursion, Treasure Hunt by Perform Education. Students will enjoy an interactive musical adventure that brings to life a selection of the CBCA 2025 Shortlisted Books.
Consent forms will be distributed via QParents in Week 4, with an invoice for $9.50 issued. If your child will be absent, please advise their classroom teacher.
