U18 Rugby League Storm Cup
The 2026 U18 Rugby League Storm Cup has been an amazing adventure thus far for both our boys & girls.
Our boys squad secured 2 victories in the round games to place 1st in the final's series!
In the semi final on Thursday 11th June they defeated Melton Secondary College 38-20, and will now be taking on The Grange College in the Grand Final on Thursday 25th June at 7pm at Seabrook Reserve, Broadmeadows. Good luck boys!
Congratulations also to our girl's squad who won all their round games and progressed to the semi final against Hallam Secondary College. Unfortunately the girls were defeated 38-14 but showed fantastic skills and were very gracious in their defeat. Well done girls for aspiring to achieve!

Year 11 Legal Studies Excursion
In May, our two Year 11 Legal Studies classes went on an excursion to the city where they visited the County Court, the Victorian Parliament and the major commercial law firm Allens, as well as participated in a Legal Studies treasure hunt.
At the County Court the students had a talk with Judge Rosemary Carlin about her experiences as a judge before sitting in on a criminal case where they saw barristers in action arguing a case. At the Victorian Parliament the students were given a tour of the Legislative Assembly, the Legislative Council and the Parliamentary library. Allens then hosted our students for lunch where they chatted with lawyers and were taken on an office tour. In between these visits some of the students competed in a treasure hunt that took them to different sites of legal significance across the city.
Muhammad Ali (11C) said it was "the best school excursion" he had been on and it "was a great reason to study Legal Studies at VUSC". Jeylan Ulduru (11F) said that the excursion "really brought Legal Studies to life" and had inspired her to aim for a legal career.

Sports Update
Congratulations to the students in the following teams for their participation and conduct, displaying our school values of Aspire to Achieve and Respect Ourselves and Others:
Badminton
Congratulations to the Intermediate Boys Badminton team who won their final on 19th May and are Keilor Division Champions — a fantastic achievement!
The boys are now off to the Western Metro Region competition on 29th July. Good luck boys!
Our 7 and 8 Girls and Boys Badminton teams also represented the school exceptionally well, making it through to the semi-finals.
Unfortunately, they did not progress to the grand final, but their effort, teamwork and sportsmanship were outstanding throughout the day.
Well done to all students involved!
Netball
We would like to congratulate all of our Year 7, 8 and Intermediate (Year 9/10) girls on their fantastic efforts at the Keilor Division netball competition on 19th May!
The Year 7 girls played a brilliant first game and showed great teamwork and determination throughout the day. Unfortunately, they narrowly missed out on finals after going down by just one point in their second game.
Both our Year 8 and Intermediate teams progressed through to the semi-finals. The Year 8 girls put up a tough fight against Southern Cross College, demonstrating resilience and excellent sportsmanship, but were ultimately defeated in a hard-fought match.
Our Intermediate girls, however, continued their strong form and secured a win against Springside West SC in the semi-final to progress through to the Grand Final. After playing back-to-back games, the girls showed incredible determination in a very close contest against Gilson College, with only a point separating the teams for most of the game. We are proud to announce that our Intermediate girls came out on top and were crowned Keilor Division Champions winning 21-20!! The girls will now progress to the Western Metro Region competition on 28th July. Good luck girls!
Congratulations to all students involved for representing the school so positively throughout the day.
A special mention to the Year 7 Boys Soccer team (left) and Boys Netball teams who put in a great effort in their competitions and showed fantastic sportsmanship! Well done for demonstrating our school values!
Keilor Division Cross Country
Congratulations to all the students who participated in the Keilor Division Cross Country on 29th May! A special mention to Jay, Elroy, Andaru, Narvia, Ella, Callum, Nicholas, Lana, Noor, Amanda Grace, Emily and Tony who will progress to the WMR Cross Country competition on Monday June 15th. Well done!!

VCE VM Update
Winter Warmer Drive - We need your help!
Students of VCE VM 12A are proudly leading a Winter Warmer Drive across both the Junior and Senior Campuses of VUSC as part of their Personal Development Skills community projects. Winter clothing donations will be collected during Weeks 9 and 10 (term 2) and weeks 1 and 2 (term 3) to help disadvantaged and vulnerable children and their families, through the Big Group Hug.
We are seeking donations of new or pre-loved children's winter clothing in sizes 0–16, including coats, jackets, jumpers, long-sleeve tops, pants, winter pyjamas, beanies, and scarves. We are also collecting single-bed linen, such as blankets, sheets, pillowcases, mattress protectors, and doona covers. New doonas and quilts are especially needed. Please keep an eye out for donation boxes at your campus.
Every donation will help keep children warm, comfortable, and cared for during the approaching winter months. We encourage all VUSC families to get involved and support this worthy cause. Together, we can make a real difference this winter.
Vala, Gracie 12A
12C Class Community Project - Blessing Bags
Students in 12C are currently working on a community project to support Blessing Bags Melbourne. As part of this project, students will be donating hygiene items, fundraising to purchase additional supplies, and working together to create care packages for people experiencing homelessness. We invite our school community to get involved by donating hygiene items. Please keep an eye out for posters around the school and social media for more information about requested items and donation drop-off locations. Thank you for supporting 12C as they work to make a positive difference in our community.
12B Class Community Project - A Cleaner, Greener VUSC
As part of VCE VM Personal Development Skills, 12B is excited to launch a new recycling initiative to encourage all Senior Campus students to place their eligible bottles and cans in our designated bins so they can be deposited for 10c. This will help us reduce waste, protect the environment, and raise funds for future VCE VM projects.
Every recycled container makes a difference, and we hope our VUSC community will get involved.
How You Can Support Us
We are asking students to please recycle their empty drink containers in our designated bins instead of tossing them into standard rubbish bins around the schools.
Together, we can build lifelong recycling habits, take pride in our environment, and make our school a cleaner, greener place to learn. Thank you so much for your continued support!
Let’s make every can count!
Class of 12B.
Rida, Josh, Khayra.
VCE VM City Experience
As part of their studies in leadership and teamwork, the Year 12 VCE VM Personal Development Skills students have been exploring these themes through a range of hands-on learning experiences. Firstly, students participated in a scavenger hunt across the Senior Campus, where they worked in small teams to solve clues and locate ten different locations around the school. The activity challenged students to use communication, problem-solving and teamwork skills. This experience served as valuable preparation for the city excursion, where students applied these same skills in a larger and more complex environment.
Here is a reflection of our day in the city from Lovely in 12A:
On Friday 29th May, year 12 VCE VM PDS students went on an exciting excursion to explore the beautiful city of Melbourne. We were challenged to visit 8 different locations and solve a series of riddles. The activity encouraged teamwork and problem solving as we discovered some of Melbourne’s most iconic landmarks. It was a fun and memorable experience that created some great memories shared with classmates and friends.
