Principal's Post
TERM 2: 2026 - Week 6
As we mark National Reconciliation Week, it has been wonderful to see the thoughtful and meaningful work taking place in classrooms. Our students have been reflecting, creating, and engaging with stories and perspectives that deepen our understanding of and respect for First Nations peoples and cultures. The care and sincerity our students bring to this work is something we are genuinely proud of. We hope that many of you see our choir performing at this week's assembly, in honour of National Sorry Day.
At the same time, our Principal class staff, have been fortunate to attend the Victorian Government Schools' Principal's Conference, a valuable opportunity to connect with colleagues from across the state and hear about the inspiring work happening in schools everywhere - work that continues to inform and energise our own practice here at Wembley.
This week also saw the release of our longer-form newsletter, and we warmly encourage all families to take the time to read through it - it is a wonderful opportunity to see a snapshot of student work within your child's cohort and across the school.

Road Safety - We have had a couple of reports regarding speedy driving and unsafe three-point turns, during student drop-off and pick up times. We do urge parents to take care when driving around the school, as our younger students are not always cognisant of road safety. This week, we experienced a significant 'near-miss' for a child, so please take care and be sure to drive well-under the speed limit.
