STAFFING UPDATE
Our Assistant Principal, Mr Greenwood, is currently enjoying long service leave until the 19th June. Replacing him is Mr Ramage.
ATTITUDES TO SCHOOL SURVEY
This week students in Years 4 - 6 completed the survey to give their opinions about the school. The Department of Education will provide the survey results later in the year.
STATEMENT OF EXPECTATION CONVERSATIONS
Over the last two weeks I have been meeting with all teaching and education support staff, providing them an opportunity to share their contributions to meet the goals of our 2026 Annual Implementation Plan. It has been fantastic to hear the wonderful efforts they are making to support student learning and wellbeing.
PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE DAY
Today staff were at school gathering and compiling information to prepare the June Student Reports.
JUNE STUDENT REPORTS
We will be providing student achievement reports for Semester 1 as usual. For each curriculum area taught, the report will include a teacher judgement and an indication of progress since the curriculum area was last reported on. Teachers will also report on student work habits for each subject by grading them as Needs Attention, Acceptable, Good, Very Good or Excellent for:
Application for learning
Classroom behaviour
Interaction with other students.
Written comments will not be included because of industrial action taken earlier this term by the Australian Education Union.
PARENT/CARER/TEACHER CONVERSATIONS
On Wednesday 24th June our parent/carer/teacher conversations are scheduled from 1.00pm - 6.00pm to provide an opportunity to discuss student reports. More information to come on Compass, including how parents/carers can book a time that suits them. Please note that with Mrs Schefe, Ms Philp, Mrs Doherty and Ms Elliott being on long service leave at this time, their conversations will be held in the first week of term three.
CURRICULUM DAY – PUPIL FREE DAY
All staff, around forty-five people in total, will attend a day of professional learning related to our 2026 Annual Implementation Plan, being the Positive Classroom Management Strategy of ‘Opportunities to Respond’ as well as ‘Check for Understanding’. These strategies encourage student engagement and provide regular opportunities for teachers to assess student understanding.
NEW TABLES IN YEAR 5
Yesterday we took delivery of new student tables for Year 5. This means that all student tables are relatively new, in good condition and similar in appearance.
