Assistant Principal -
Student Care
Mr Simon Fleming
Thank you to families and students who have been supportive and cooperative regarding the wearing of the school uniform. We have noticed an improvement in standards. Could i ask that parents email the office or write a note if for some reason the uniform is not available.
I would like to congratulate all the students who have attained success across a wide range of events over the last few weeks. Some are more evident than others. The ones that I notice are those who have chosen to make some positive efforts with regard to learning. Now that we are approaching assessment time it is important that our students demonstrate resilience and perseverance. Learning is not easy and students need to realise that we need to struggle when faced with challenging tasks. There may be times when we want to give up but this is when we need to demonstrate strength, grit and determination to complete the task. When we do we can walk away with a deep sense of accomplishment that can drive success.
A book I read recently discussed the greatest desires of people and one of these was a sense of belonging. This is a powerful force that shapes how we feel about a space or place. The opposite of belonging is when we experience a disconnect to a space or place. If we do not feel a sense of connection and belonging the natural reaction is to go to another place where we can find a comfortable setting. What we are aiming to develop is a connection to school and a sense of belonging for all young people and adults by being valued and treated with dignity and respect. Some elements of achieving a connection is to allow everyone to learn in a positive manner, attend school regularly, wear the correct uniform daily and to treat each other care.

Kind Regards,
Mr Simon Fleming,
