Farewell 2024

As 2024 draws to a close, it’s incredible to reflect on how far we’ve come since Day 1, when we welcomed our Level 5 students. We still recall the day we gathered outside for the level photograph and spoke to the students about our expectations and their hopes for the year ahead. We also emphasized that leadership for Year 6 begins on Day 1 of Year 5 and is nurtured throughout the year.

The teachers, too, started 2024 with high hopes and a shared sense of purpose. Alongside the rest of the school, we trialed innovative, evidence-based teaching approaches and piloted activities that set a strong foundation for future programs. Throughout the year, our level maintained a consistency of expectations for all students, helping them achieve their best.

As the year concludes, we celebrate the culmination of the leadership program. Many students displayed courage and stepped forward to serve. While some have been selected for formal leadership roles, all have demonstrated they are ready and capable leaders. We’ve seen them navigate both joy and disappointment with maturity and resilience. For those not selected for formal positions, there will still be numerous opportunities to lead in 2025, as planning for these roles has already begun.

On Monday, at the final SEPS assembly for 2024, the formal Year 6 leadership roles will officially transition from the current leaders to the new 2025 leaders. We warmly invite all parents to join us in celebrating this significant moment.

As we prepare to deliver reports, we want to acknowledge how proud we are of your children. They have surpassed all our expectations, and it’s clear why you, as parents, are equally proud.

Beach Safety Awareness Photos

On Thursday, the Year 5 students enjoyed a memorable day at Sandringham Lifesaving Club. They participated in a range of activities, learning vital skills about water safety, recognising rips, and assisting those in difficulty. Although it was only 26 degrees, it felt much hotter, making the return 20-minute walk stretch into 40 minutes! Despite the heat, the day was a wonderful success, full of learning and fun.

As we say farewell to 2024, we wish all our families a happy, safe, and joyful Christmas and New Year. We look forward to welcoming everyone back in 2025, refreshed and ready for another exciting chapter in our school journey.

Warm regards,

Michelle, Joshua & Michael
