Principal's News

Dear Families,

Welcome Back to Sacred Heart for 2025!

I want to thank all of you for the warm welcome my family, and I have received as we join the Sacred Heart community. We are genuinely excited to be part of such a vibrant and supportive environment.

A special thanks goes to Jack Lenaghan, Nicole Lynch, Paul Maddern, and the entire staff at Sacred Heart for their hard work and dedication in ensuring a seamless handover. Your efforts are greatly appreciated.

Today marks the beginning of another exciting school year as our classes and teachers come together to embark on new learning journeys. A particularly warm welcome to our 44 Foundation students who will be starting their school adventure - what a milestone!

Key Updates for 2025:

  • Newsletter:
    • Published every Tuesday afternoon as a PDF, delivered via email.
    • Families preferring a hard copy can request one through the office.
    • The newsletter includes an "Upcoming Dates" section to inform you of events.
    • We encourage all parents to read the newsletter regularly to stay up-to-date.
  • Medical Profiles:
    • If you have not already done so, please complete the review of your child/ren’s medical profile via PAM.  This needs to be completed by the end of today.
  • Permissions:
    • Unfortunately, the permissions that you may have completed on the 20th January have reset and therefore need to be done again.  Once again, if you have not already done so,  please complete the seven permissions today.

      These are located under Connect Fields in PAM.

  • End of Day Schedule:
    • The survey has now closed.  However, if you didn’t complete the survey and you fall into one of the categories below, please email endofday@shcolac.catholic.edu.au advising of schedule:
      • A schedule where the child's pick up/exit point is not the same each night;
      • Runs on an A and B week (fortnightly) routine (we are currently in a A wee);
      • Is in Year 1 - due to being unable to use the Prep Gate pick up this year (families with foundation students can still use Prep Gate) to help them get to their new pick up/exit point;
      • Is in Year Foundation - so that we can help them get used to their routine.

Let’s make this a fantastic year of growth, collaboration, and success. I look forward to meeting many of you in the coming days and weeks.

Kind regards,

Karl Dwyer
