Ripper Families
RIPPSTOCK CARNIVAL - Thank you to all families, volunteers, donors and community members!
The winds, rain and hail did not deter our beautiful Ripponlea community from supporting the kids and our wonderful school at Rippstock Carnival.
The event raised about $25,000 to go towards improving the junior school playground thanks to all of you!
There are so many people to thank for all the planning, effort and care taken to pull off an event like this, aside from all of you who showed up to support Ripponlea Primary School, despite the rain – THANK YOU!
An extra thank you to Tarryn Holland and Suzete Ribeiro who went above and beyond leading the Carnival Committee and the event overall. These ladies were the first in and last out at every step - absolute Ripper Legends!
Volunteers:
Without our wonderful volunteers, this event could not go ahead! Thank you all!

WORDS FROM THE SCHOOL COUNCIL PRESIDENT
Dear Ripponlea Primary School Community,
As we reach the end of 2024, I find myself reflecting on what has been a truly remarkable year for our school. On a personal note, this milestone year holds special significance for me as my oldest child concludes their journey at Ripponlea Primary. It’s a bittersweet moment, filled with immense pride for all they’ve achieved and a deep sense of gratitude for the nurturing environment this school has provided. I am grateful I have a few years left in the community as my younger daughter heads into grade 4 next year.
I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to my fellow School Council members – Suzete, Lee, Kara, Julie P, Colin, Romany, Julie N, Braden, Marta & Natalie. Your dedication, time, and collaborative spirit have been instrumental in shaping the positive outcomes we’ve seen this year. Together, we have tackled significant projects and initiatives, and your commitment to the school community is inspiring.
This year, as a council we have worked tirelessly to drive meaningful change. We have had few key areas of focus including Child Safe Standards, Governance and Finance, Providing inclusive buildings, Sustainability and a commitment to Reconciliation to name a few. One of our standout achievements has been the successful completion of much-anticipated building works. These improvements are a testament to our collective efforts to ensure that Ripponlea remains a vibrant, supportive, and future-focused learning environment for our children.
Another massive achievement thanks to the support of Julie Nield, Luca Dickinson and Suzete Ribeiro was our first ever Reconciliation Action Plan being published on the Narragunawali website. I urge everyone to head to the website and look over the exciting work we will be doing in this space in 2025. Narragunnawali - Ripponlea Primary School
A special shout-out also goes to the Ripper Families Committee, whose enthusiasm and hard work have been extraordinary. From countless events such as trivia, raffles, special persons day, to the resounding success of our wonderful ‘Rippstock’ carnival, your contributions have not only raised essential funds but have also strengthened the bonds within our school community. We are so fortunate to have such passionate and dedicated volunteers. There are so many people that volunteered across these events but I do want to mention a few key players. A massive thanks to Robyn, Lee B, Renee R, Alice, Suzete, Emily S, Mindy, Bianca S, Jess A, Bely, Bec V, Alec, Matt S, Angus, Skye HH, Julie P, Anita, Anneli, Robin, Nat K, Lynn and Sasha.
I do have to give a special shout out to Kate & Perrine in the office who work tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure all our events run seamlessly from an admin perspective. Kate also comes along to all our school council meetings to discuss finance and take minutes. Thanks to both of you for all you do.
I would also like to express my deepest gratitude to our exceptional teachers, inclusion support staff, and leadership team. Your unwavering commitment to excellence and care for each child is the heart of what makes Ripponlea Primary so special. There are many of you heading of to new places next year and you will be so missed. Many of you have taught my girls and I have to say you are truly exceptional. I wish you all the best of luck in your new endeavours.
As we head into the summer break, I want to wish all our families a joyful and restful holiday season. May this time be filled with laughter, relaxation, and the creation of wonderful memories.
Thank you for making 2024 a year to remember.
Warm regards,
Tarryn Holland
School Council President
