Wellbeing

Hands on Learning (HoL) is an innovative-in school program that primary and secondary schools use to increase attendance and student achievement by building personal, social skills and supporting different ways young people learn.
Today, Save the Children and HoL school support teams help over 120 schools to implement Hands on Learning all around Australia. Students develop strategies to shift attitudes and behaviours that have become barriers to succeeding in the classroom, empowering them to make the most of school.
Participants can range from school leaders to the shy and reserved, those suffering anxiety, to kids who are not good at sharing and those that lack the ability to self-regulate. Primary schools also use HoL to target transition issues and provide the students with a sense of personal development, confidence and resilience.
Hands on Learning is - A place to belong - People to belong to - Real things to do – A chance to give back.
