The last week of primary school our mural Our Mary was finally completed. The mural was a culmination of student work from year 3 to year 10. Many students submitted drawings of ‘their’ Mary and these were finally collaged onto a large painting of Mary. The images were arranged, as far as possible, according to colour. Many had to be reduced to ensure that every art work submitted was included in the final mural but every child who submitted a work has it included in the finished art work. After gluing all the images (with thanks to many, particularly Catherine Treble) onto the surface, the mural received a wash of colour to bind the image together. Finally, it has been coated with varnish to ensure some longevity for the years to come.  It has been wonderful so far watching students scour the image visually for their piece in the communal artwork. I hope it is enjoyed for many years to come.
