Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Carers

As we move through Week 4 of Term 1, it has been wonderful to see our school community so actively engaged in the learning journey.

A sincere thank you to all the parents and carers who attended our Meet and Greet interviews yesterday. We had an incredible 1,377 booked interviews, which is a strong reflection of the positive partnerships between home and school. These early conversations are invaluable in building shared understanding, setting goals, and ensuring every child feels supported both in the classroom and at home. We truly appreciate the time and commitment our families show in working alongside us.

Looking ahead, we are excited to celebrate Harmony Day on March 20. Harmony Day is a special opportunity for us to recognise and celebrate the rich cultural diversity within our school community. It is a time to reflect on the message that “Everyone Belongs” and to acknowledge the many cultures, languages, and traditions that make our community so vibrant.

This year, Harmony Day also coincides with the holy month of Ramadan, an important time of reflection, prayer, and community for many of our Muslim families. We recognise and respect those who will be observing Ramadan and value the opportunity to continue building understanding and inclusion across our school.

Thank you for your ongoing support as we work together to create a connected, respectful, and inclusive learning environment for all students.

School Uniform

At school, all children are expected to wear either the complete sports uniform or the complete academic uniform (please see below).

Regarding our school uniform and children’s personal presentation, it is essential:

· Children only wear the complete sports uniform or the complete academic uniform

· Children are in full school uniform every day, unless there is a casual dress day, or it is the child’s birthday

· All uniform items are clean in appearance

· Garments are kept in good repair

· Children wear their uniform neatly

· All uniform items are clearly named. We recommend that student labels be ironed or sewn onto each uniform item rather than written. Student name labels should also be on the inside of garments only

· Nail polish or false nails (acrylic, shellac, SNS, gel) are not worn

· Only small, plain, and round gold or silver stud or sleeper earrings are worn in the earlobes

· If children’s hair reaches their collar, it is secured off the face using black, teal, or hair colour clips, clasps, hair bands, and hair ties only

· Cultural headdress is to be either white, black, or teal only

· The only hat that is worn is the Tarneit Rise Primary School hat

School Start Time and Supervision

As we settle into the term, we kindly remind families that the school day begins at 8:45 am. Yard supervision begins at 8:30am. We ask that children not be dropped off before this time, as staff are not available to provide supervision until then. Ensuring students are safe and supported from the moment they arrive is a priority, and your cooperation during these times helps us maintain a secure environment for all.

Photo Day is coming up next week, and we would encourage all children to wear their academic uniform for their school photos.

Thank you for your ongoing support
