Foundation Spotlight

Starting school!
Last Thursday was a big day and the Foundation teachers are so impressed with how quickly all of the Foundation students have settled into life at Fairfield Primary School.
There have been exciting visits to the library, gym, Science room, art studio and French room. Students have embraced each day full of smiles and energy, proving that they truly are ready for the next seven years.
We have learnt the letter ‘m’ and ‘s’ and the sounds they make, with help from our friend Milo Monkey and Sally Snake!
We have used number rhymes to help us write the numbers 0 to 3. These are the rest of the number rhymes if you would like to practise at home.
We have also been amazing at practising our procedures and routines to help us be safe, organised and ready to learn! We have practiced lining up at our meeting spot and getting our teachers attention!
Some of our favourite parts of foundation so far are:
- “Playing on the playground and seeing my brother and sister!” ~ Sadie, FA
- “Doing maths!” ~ Toby, FA
- “Playing with the colour magnets.” ~ Oliver, FB
- “Playing Beyblades.” ~ Wes, FB
- “Going to the playground.” ~ Xyla, FB
- “Making new friends.” ~ Archie, FC
- “Art is my favourite.” ~ Hugo, FC
- “I love lunch.” ~ Anna, FC
- “Playing with my friends.” ~ Aoife, FC
