The Year 4 students have had an energetic and productive start to 2026. Over the first four weeks, they’ve settled confidently into their daily routines and embraced their learning with enthusiasm. We were also lucky enough to welcome AFL players from the Melbourne Football Club, who spent time with us and made the start of the year even more memorable.

Events and Reminders

School hats - please ensure that your child brings their Hillsmeade hat to school. During Terms 1 and 4, students are required to wear their hat while outside. If they do not have one, they will be required to play under shade sails or the wellbeing room during recess and lunch play.

Drink bottles - please remind your child to bring a drink bottle to school daily so that they have easy access during class learning time.

Pencil cases - Please ensure that students bring their pencil case to school for use in the classroom.

Labour Day Public Holiday - Monday, 9th March students will not be required to attend school.

Family Fun Night - Monday, 23rd March - 3:30-5.15pm.

Homework

Reading: Please continue to encourage your child to read every night. Ask them to record the title of the book and the number of minutes read in their diary.

Students are required to bring their diaries to school so that teachers can check them on the day specified.

The Year 4 teachers thank you for your ongoing support.

Ongoing Reporting

This year we have begun sending home learning tasks through Compass so that families can see how their children are progressing with learning. The second learning task will be uploaded to Compass on Friday 20th February.
