Junior School
Assistant Principal Junior School - Overview
Dear Families,
As students continue to settle in and get into their learning groove we would like to celebrate and share some of the highlights from Term 2 so far.
Lake Dewar
In Week 2 of this term, our students enjoyed a memorable excursion to Lake Dewar, where they built new friendships and strengthened existing ones through engaging activities. Highlights included navigating a giant standup paddleboard, where students worked together to maintain balance and steer, and push peddling through various courses that required clear communication and teamwork. They also tackled an obstacle course, relying on each other's strengths to overcome challenges, and worked together to stabilize a giant seesaw, which required patience and coordination. Throughout the day, our students demonstrated our school values of respect and excellence, making the outing a resounding success.
Humanities Expo
Our recent Humanities Expo transformed our classrooms into vibrant displays of student projects, offering a fascinating journey through history and culture showcasing their work from their unit on "Belonging Down Under". Each class presented a range of artefacts, models, and multimedia presentations that highlighted their understanding and creativity. Parents and family members who attended the expo were impressed by the depth of knowledge and the imaginative approaches our students took in their projects. Students took pride in explaining their work, honing their presentation skills and confidence during a student showcase. The event was a celebration of learning and community, bringing together families and teachers in a shared appreciation of our students' hard work and dedication.
Student Value Award Recipients
This term at a Year 7 assembly we recognised a number of students with Values Awards. These students have been nominated by their teachers, many with multiple nominations, as they have consistently shown and gone above and beyond to show our school values of respect, community, innovation and excellence. Well done to the following students who have been recognised:
