Mid-Term Progress Update

Students across Year 7 and Year 10 have been deeply engaged in their educational programs. As we reach the midpoint of the term, students have successfully settled into classroom routines and are actively participating in learning activities tailored to their individual pathways.

Academic Testing and Assessments

Both Year 7 and Year 10 students have diligently completed their PAT testing in Science, Maths, and Reading. Additionally, they have undertaken common assessment tasks to demonstrate their learning within their classrooms. Their commitment to their studies is commendable, and they should be proud of their efforts. Year 7 students, in particular, are recognized for their participation, behaviour, and dedication during the NAPLAN testing.

VLTI and Improving Literacy

Students in Year 7 and Year 10 have begun their literacy improvement focus groups facilitated by Virtual Schools Victoria. The program kicked off with a student and teacher meet-and-greet at both the junior and senior campuses. Following this introduction in Week 5, the classes officially started in Week 6.

Advanced Maths

Year 10 students have commenced their studies in advanced maths, having gone through a selection process that included writing an application and taking a pre-test. This class provides an opportunity for students to extend and deepen their mathematical knowledge, skills, and passion. Students have thoroughly enjoyed their first few weeks of advanced maths classes with Ms V and are excited for more to come!

Early Access VCE

Early-access VCE students are to be congratulated for their efforts in VCE Biology and VCE Business Management. Their virtual schools learning teachers and facilitators have praised them for their dedication to learning and achievement. These students have demonstrated excellent study skills as they prepare for their final years of schooling. Well done! 

Independent Reading

Term 2 saw the launch of Independent Reading for Year 7 and Year 10. All homegroups received an independent reading tub filled with a variety of texts to engage with in class. The launch featured a book tasting event for Year 7 and a student choice-text selection for Year 10. We encourage our learners to continue their reading practices outside of their English classes.

We commend students for their commitment to learning and look forward to celebrating the success and progress of all students as we reach assessment time and semester examinations for Year 10 students.
