Hi, I’m Safa Fatima, and I have recently been given the opportunity to undertake work experience at Harris Scarfe. I am currently in the midst of a 5-day work experience programme, which has been a great experience so far. This opportunity has given me essential skills for my future career and permitted me to gain hands-on experience.
When I started working at Harris Scarfe, I was immersed in various aspects of store operations, such as filling stock, assisting customers, ticketing, and returning misplaced stock. This has allowed me to gain practical skills in a real-world setting, which prepares me for challenges and lets me maintain a strong work ethic. By working in practical scenarios,I worked closely with the friendly and experienced staff, who mentored me about the inner workings of a dynamic workplace. I was taught practices and skills to help me grow professionally.
During my time at Harris Scarfe, I have obtained many skills that have benefited my personal and professional development. The best part of this experience has been developing my communication and collaboration skills. I'm learning how to effectively work with new people, adapt to a fast-paced environment, and manage my time efficiently. These skills will enable me to work in a professional environment. As I continue my work experience, I look forward to refining my skills, and I am certain that this experience will be valuable.
I'm confident that the skills and knowledge I'm gaining will advantage me in my future career pathways, and I'm grateful to Harris Scarfe and my school for supporting me throughout this experience.
