Welcome to Natsuki

Hi! My name is Natsuki (Nacki) Mase. I am privileged and humble to be able to work with wonderful students and teachers at Beaumaris Primary. I will be working with Ms. Gall, an outstanding Japanese teacher at Beaumaris, as a Japanese language assistant until the end of the school year. I was born and raised in Japan, lived in Michigan, US with my family from 10-14 years old. My brother is a pharmacist in Japan, and my parents are living in the States. I lived in a countryside of Japan called Kiso, full of mountains, rivers where streets are recently filled with tourists from abroad walking Nakasedo, also known as “Samurai Road” with only 10,000 residents living in the area. (Most of the tourists were from Australia!) I like musical shows, tennis, and am interested in children's literature.

I worked for 8 years in Japan after getting my Bachelor in English. The pandemic has given me a chance to redirect my life to do what I like to do. Teaching has always been my dream job and being able to do that overseas is a dream come true. Learning a new language can be challenging for anyone including myself, but I believe it’s always eye-opening to see the world from a different point of view. I will do the best I can to introduce local cultures and trivia of Japan. Hopefully by the end of the year, students will be pera-pera (quite fluent) in Japanese! Please come and visit Japan, it is small in size but an interesting country.
