Dear Parents and Guardians,
We are very proud of our students who have represented our school in interschool sports and the district cross country. Well done to all who participated and demonstrated respect for themselves and other competitors. We have two students who will now go onto the regional cross country event.
Importance of reading every day
Children are born ready to learn and, right from birth, benefit greatly from being wrapped into a parent’s warm embrace while sharing the sounds, language patterns and images of a storybook on a favourite topic. Even after children can read for themselves they continue to benefit from (and enjoy) sharing books with their parents. So never stop reading to them.
Reading is a fundamental skill your child will use for the rest of their life and reading aloud at home strengthens their language, vocabulary and comprehension skills. As you listen to them read it also improves their social skills and confidence. The quality time you will also spend with your child raises their mood and sense of wellbeing, and creates those special moments you and they will always cherish.
Reading in your mother tongue also builds the love of reading and literacy so lets get started !!!!!!
Also want to shout out to our amazing volunteers for the Mothers day/ Special Persons day stall. I also want to recognise all of the adults in our children’s lives who nurture and guide our young people. Thank you for doing such an amazing job!!!!! Its important to take time to appreciate the connections we have whether its family or community. This day can also be a sad day for some and we send our good wishes and thoughts to you as well.
Thank you to our volunteers at mother/special person day stall
