Principal's Report

Prep 2027

Prep enrolments for 2027 are now almost finalised. Thank you to all the parents of siblings who will be attending WHPS next year who accepted their places and returned their enrolment forms promptly over the past two weeks. We really appreciate your cooperation in helping us finalise our enrolments.

Over the next few weeks, we will provide families with further information about the Term 4 transition days, as well as other important information to help our new Preps and their families prepare for 2027.

We are very excited to welcome all our new Preps to WHPS for 2027 and look forward to getting to know them over the coming months.

50th Anniversary Mural 

As part of the WHPS 50th Anniversary celebrations planned for later this year, the school has commissioned a special mural to commemorate this important milestone.

To involve our students we are inviting students to enter a mural design competition.

How to Enter

Students are asked to:

• Draw their mural design on an A4 sheet of paper.
• Write their name and class on the back of the design.
• Place their completed design in the competition box opposite the First Aid Room.
• Entries must be submitted by Wednesday 16th September (the last week of Term 3).

The mural artist, Ryan Peik, will review all the designs and select the design, or elements from designs, that best suit the space and capture the spirit of our 50th Anniversary.

Ideas to Consider

Students may like to include some of the following in their design:

• Our current school colours – blue and orange
• Our former school colours – maroon and yellow
• The old and/or new school logos
• 50th Anniversary
• 1976–2026
• Pictures of students, teachers and families
• Our school buildings
• Learning and school activities
• Books, pencils and pens
• Sport, reading, maths, learning and other things that represent school at WHPS

These are just ideas. Students are welcome to be creative and come up with their own design!

We look forward to seeing lots of creative and inspiring designs and celebrating 50 years of WHPS together!

Parent Survey

Our school is conducting the annual Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey offered by the Department of Education and is seeking your feedback. The survey is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour, and student engagement. The survey is optional, but we encourage and appreciate your participation.

Our school will use the survey results to assist in identifying areas for improvement and professional development needs in the school, to target school planning and improvement strategies. 

The Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey will be open online from Monday 17 August to Friday 18 September 2026. All families are invited to participate in the survey. 

The survey will be conducted online, only takes 20 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones.

The online survey will be available in English and 10 other languages including Arabic, Greek, Hakha Chin, Hindi, Japanese, Punjabi, Simplified Chinese, Somali, Turkish, and Vietnamese. Resources are also available in additional languages to assist parents / caregivers / guardians who speak a language other than English at home. 

An email  / Compass note will be sent soon informing you how to access the survey.

Assemblies for Term 3

Assemblies will continue throughout Term 3 on the Fridays listed below. They will be held either on the oval or in the gym, depending on the weather and activities planned. As always, parents and families are invited to attend.

Friday 4th September - 2pm 

Friday 18th September - Footy Day Assembly - 9am
