The Impact of Nutrition on Student Welfare- Parent Session
Monday 15th September 2.20pm-3.30pm
Last year we invited Angelica Pupillo (Clinical Nutritionist) to speak to the parents of our senior students. We invited Angelina again in 2025 to conduct some sessions with our Grade 5 and 6 students. She was an amazing resource and had a real impact with the students she was working with. On Monday 15th September I have organised another parent session on this topic. For those who came last year it is a repeat session but you, of course, are most welcome to attend. The session is probably most suitable for Grade 3-6, but everyone is welcome as it might provide information for the coming years that is incredibly useful.
We will meet in the staff room for a cuppa (biscuits supplied, but I am not good at cooking so they will not be homemade!)
The session will run from 2.20-3.30pm (finished in time to collect students).
Please contact the office by Thursday 11th September and let them know you would like to attend. Hope to see those who can attend.
Many thanks to the families who have taken time out of their busy lives to complete the Department of Education School Survey. We very much appreciate you giving up your time to assist the school.
The survey is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour, and student engagement. If you received an invitation and, not had a chance to share your thoughts if you could do so before the close on September 19th it would be very much appreciated.
Parents who received an invitation were provided with a school PIN and a link to complete the survey. Rollins will use the survey results to inform school planning and the development of programs and initiatives to support our students.
If your child is unwell in the morning, please do not send them to school. You will be contacted to collect your child if they present with any symptom. We are trying our very best to limit the spread of all viruses.
Family dynamics can sometimes be very different for many of our families today. We are aware that on special days (e.g. Father’s Day, Mother’s Day, Grandparents Day etc) we try to always encourage students to celebrate or invite a family member or important adult in their life who has made a meaningful impact. We also speak to the students about this to prevent any child feeling uneasy or left out. Hopefully, we can continue to build on this and be inclusive in everything that we do at Rollins.
I would like to sincerely thank the community volunteers who gave up their personal time to assist us with our stall last week- events like this could not happen unless we are able to get the support of these people. In particular huge thanks to Chelsea Kent, Jodie Hastings, Allanah Testa, Alison Smith and Devlin Nandaweera. - Great team effort.
As you were aware Ground force (Kardinia) were unable to complete their makeover last term due to the heavy rain. They have organised to come this Saturday to complete the painting. The working bee will last from 9-12. It would be amazing if any parent/guardian could spare a few hours to help. Please call Meagan in the office to let her know your intention to assist. Many thanks in advance.
