Staying Sun Safe and Hydrated
As we move into the warmer months, it is a timely reminder for all students to come to school prepared with a hat and a drink bottle each day. Ensuring students are sun safe and well-hydrated helps them stay comfortable and focused, which in turn supports their learning and overall wellbeing. We understand that some families may require assistance with school uniforms, and we encourage you to take advantage of our second-hand uniform shop. It is a wonderful resource that helps ensure every student feels comfortable, confident, and ready to engage fully in their school day.
Check-in Assessments Completed
This week, our Stage 2 and Stage 3 students have been completing their Check-in Assessments, a Department of Education requirement. These assessments provide vital information about each student’s progress in literacy and numeracy, helping us to identify strengths and areas for further support. We congratulate all students on their effort and resilience during the assessment period. We also extend our sincere thanks to our dedicated teachers who have supported and encouraged students every step of the way. The insights gained from these assessments will enable us to tailor our teaching strategies to better meet the individual learning needs of our students and to celebrate their growth throughout the year.
Top Blokes Program and Graduation
This term, our Stage 3 boys' group have had the privilege of participating in the Top Blokes program, which focuses on positive leadership, building healthy relationships, and making responsible decisions. The program has provided meaningful opportunities for our boys to reflect on their personal development and to engage in important conversations about respect and resilience. We are pleased to share that the Top Blokes graduation ceremony will take place in week 10, celebrating the commitment and growth of our Stage 3 boys who have taken part in this valuable program. It is a proud moment for our students, families, and staff as we recognise the positive impact this experience has had on them.
Use of Mobile Phones in Schools Reminder
We would like to remind all families about our Use of Mobile Phones in Schools Procedures, which requires students to place their phones or connected digital devices in a school-issued pouch upon entering the school gate each morning. These pouches are securely locked during the school day and unlocked by students at dismissal. This process helps us maintain focused and distraction-free learning environments in our classrooms. To ensure consistency with this important expectation, Mrs Carr and Miss McCallum will be conducting phone pouch checks across all classes before the end of the term.
Celebrating Positive Behaviour - Gold Token Reward Session
We are incredibly proud of the effort and commitment our students have shown throughout the term. To recognise and celebrate their positive behaviour, we will be holding our Gold Token Reward Session on Thursday, 18 September. This special event is for students who have received a gold token this term, demonstrating safe, respectful, and responsible behaviour consistently. During the session, students will have the opportunity to play games and connect with peers. For those students who do not have a device, one will be provided, with all devices stored safely in the office throughout the day. We understand that some students or families may choose not to participate at this time; if so, gold tokens can be held over and redeemed at the next reward session.
Attendance
Regular attendance and punctual arrival at school are essential for student success. Each day missed is a day of learning lost, and even being a few minutes late can disrupt a child’s routine and impact the start of their day. At our school, we are committed to supporting every student to reach their full potential, and that begins with being present, on time, and ready to learn.
We kindly remind parents and carers to ensure that children arrive at school before the bell, so they can settle in and start their day positively. If your child is absent, please remember to inform the school, within 7 days, with an explanation as soon as possible. Keeping us updated helps us maintain accurate records and allows us to better support your child’s learning and wellbeing.
Let’s work together to build strong attendance habits and make every school day count!
