Pastoral Wellbeing

The Resilience Project (TRP)
We have continued to explore the trait of Empathy during TRP lessonswith Junior students focusing on recognising emotions in others. Students explored how empathy involves being kind and supportive to others to show that they care about how others feel. Senior students revisited the "T.H.I.N.K before you speak" method and explored the power of their word choices in everyday scenarios. Please see the T.H.I.N.K poster below which families may like to refer to with their children to encourage mindful and considered word choices when interacting with others.

Loddon Health and Wellbeing Local (LHWL)
On Monday afternoon I attended the first Loddon Health and Wellbeing Local Community of Practice session which focussed on Understanding and Responding to Emotional Dysregulation in children under the age of 11 years. The session was facilitated by Dr. Dan Mirmilstein, a psychiatrist based at CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service) in Bendigo and Nicole Price, a child psychologist and provided a fascinating and practical insight into strategies we can use in our classrooms and our homes to support our young people. Please find some attachments which families may find useful from the LHWL below:
