Student Leadership At Truganina College

Starting last week, Truganina College began the exciting process of selecting the next team of student leaders for 2026. The selection process for College Captains, House Captains and Student Voice Leaders will be help up until Week 9 of Term 4.

Students who applied for leadership positions were required to submit an application along with a teacher reference. During the interviews, candidates were asked questions about leadership qualities and how they can make the school a better place for students. Our current College Captains Zakariya, Noku and Sherin joined the interview panel to represent the student body.

Once the interviews are complete, shortlisted College Captain applicants will present a campaign to the whole school along with a speech. All students and staff will have the opportunity to cast their votes. A panel of teachers and current school leaders will make the final decision for all other leadership roles, including House Captains.

Many students have expressed excitement about the opportunity to make a difference. We have already heard so many amazing stories and ideas from our candidates and can’t wait to see them in action.

The results will be announced in our Excellence Assembly in Week 9, with the new leadership team officially taking on their roles at the beginning of 2026
