It was another busy and exciting term for wellbeing at Elwood College in Term 3!

This term, our staff have taken part in Youth Mental Health First Aid training, along with teachers from neighbouring schools, as facilitated by our Wellbeing Team. It’s been great to see so many staff building their confidence and skills to support young people who might be struggling and have training that goes hand in hand with our Teen Mental Health First Aid program.

Our Year 8 students have also completed the Teen Mental Health First Aid program, an empowering course that helps them understand mental health, look out for their friends, and know where to go for support. We’re excited to bring this same program to our Year 7s at the start of Term 4!

We’re also getting ready to run our second Tuning into Teens workshop for 2025 in Week 1 of Term 4, this is a program for parents that focuses on connection, communication, and emotion coaching. It’s been so well received that we’re already planning to run it again in 2026!

Finally, a huge thank you to our two provisional psychologists and our Headspace in Schools clinician, who continue to make such a positive difference across our school. Their ongoing work means more students can access support when they need it most.
