Dear Students, Staff and Families

We concluded Term 3 with a special assembly to celebrate our students’ achievements. Awards were presented for outstanding attendance, most improved academic performance, and positive contributions to school life. A special thank you to James Newbury MP for joining us to help acknowledge the accomplishments of our students in NAPLAN. We proudly recognised Year 9 students who achieved results in the top proficiency band in either reading and/or numeracy.

This term, fifteen students will embark on the Japan Study Tour, departing at the end of October and returning 15 November. Study tours offer students the opportunity to deepen their cultural understanding, practise their language, build global awareness, and create lifelong memories. I am thrilled to be accompanying the group this year on what will be a particularly special journey, as we celebrate 40 years of exchange with our sister school, a significant milestone in our school's commitment to international learning and connection. During my absence, Stephanie Pearce will be stepping in as Acting Principal.

I am also pleased to share that Marc Favre, who has been Acting Assistant Principal for over a year, has now been officially appointed to the role. Marc’s dedication, leadership, and commitment to supporting students, families, and staff have been invaluable. I look forward to continuing our work together as we focus on further success with the learning and wellbeing of our school community.

Our Year 12 students are currently preparing for their final exams, with language and performance assessments already underway. This time of year marks both an academic milestone and a significant personal achievement for our Year 12 students. We are incredibly proud of the growth, resilience, and determination our 2025 VCE students have shown throughout their final year. To mark the end of their schooling journey, students and staff are preparing a series of celebrations including a final assembly, themed dress-up day, and friendly staff vs student games. These moments are important reminders of the vibrant and supportive community we have built together. We will also come together to formally celebrate the Class of 2025 at the Valedictory Dinner on Tuesday 21 October.

To our graduating VCE students, as Maya Angelou wisely said, "Success is liking yourself, liking what you do, and liking how you do it." I encourage you all to be kind, to do good in the world, and to pursue your dreams with courage and passion. Your futures are bright!
