Principal's Report

By Carolyn Serpell

As the last day of school, tomorrow we will have a casual dress day.  A reminder that school will also finish at the earlier time of 2.30pm.

Thank you to everyone for your support with our recent market, bazaar and soup day!

In addition to providing a fantastic learning experience, Sunday was also a wonderful community event, with lots of people wondering through to grab a coffee and browse the extensive range of secondhand goods.  In total, $1094 was raised from this event.  For those of you who missed out, the good news is that there are still plenty of bargains to be had!

We still have the following items for sale:

Filing cabinets (great for tool storage in the shed)

A variety of shelving book and metal shelving

Carpet underlay and carpet

A telescope

4 pairs of XC skis

Timber kitchen cupboard doors

An organ

External roller blinds

and a Kitchen sink!...among others, so come in browse the options and make us an offer!

While Pumpkin soup may not be everyone's favourite, for those of us who love it, Tuesday provided a real treat and some new converts!  Many thanks to Kathryn and the Year 3 & 4 students for their work making soup and bread on Tuesday.  Both were delicious and thoroughly enjoyed!

Today, lots of fun was had, as we celebrated the end of the football season, with a 'Footy Fun and Sports Day'. Thanks to everyone for their efforts and to Dave for his organisation of a rotation of sports activities that included Footy Footy Over, Relays, Skittles, Target Practice and Goal Kicking.

Jump Rope for Heart Prizes were distributed today.  Thanks again to everyone for their support with fundraising!

Next term is just around the corner and already the calendar is filling quickly!

In the first week back, all students will have the opportunity to participate in a free performance with renowned First Nations recording artist, Ash Dargan.  Students will attend the performance at the Mount Beauty Community Centre on Tuesday 7th October from 11am -12.30pm

On Friday 10th October, qualifying students will head to the Regional Athletics Division finals in Wodonga.  Many thanks to Steph for her organisation and to all families for their support with this event.

As we look forward to the holidays, I would like to wish everyone a safe and restful break. Many thanks to families, friends and volunteers for your ongoing support of our school events and activities, which is so greatly appreciated by us all.  A big thank you also to our wonderful staff, who have again worked tirelessly this term, and whom I know will be looking forward to a well-earned break!

We look forward to seeing you on Monday 6th October, and sharing another great term of learning.
