COMMUNITY SPORTING ACHIEVEMENTS

Massive shoutout to Arlo C (5ND) who trialled for Team Vic on Monday 1st September at Tom Kelly Athletics Track. Arlo competed in the High Jump, tying for 2nd place with an impressive jump of 1.46m — a huge 7cm personal best!

Well done, Arlo! 💪🏼

If your child achieves something special (grand final win, most valuable player award, best and fairest etc.), please email me (jordan.daley@education.vic.gov.au) through photos and an overview of the achievement to post in Contact. It is important to celebrate and recognise such successes with the school community.

GREENILLS PS FOOTY DAY

As announced a couple of weeks ago, Francesca T (6LB) has been selected for the Team Vic 12 Years & Under Girls Football (Soccer) team! She will represent Team Vic at the School Sport Australia Championships in Ballarat from Saturday 25th October to Thursday 30th October 2025. This is an incredible achievement — Francesca earned her place through a rigorous four-stage trial process, a true testament to not only her talent but also her grit and determination.

Participation in Team Vic is self-funded, with costs for each student reaching into the thousands. This includes host state and administrative levies, uniforms, training and team equipment, transport, accommodation, and meals.

To help support the family with raising funds, we will be holding our annual Footy Day on Friday 19th September. For a gold coin donation, students can come dressed in their team’s colours. Throughout the day, fun footy rotations will be run by some of our Year 6 Leaders.

Thank you,

Jordan Daley

LIBRARY

This term, come and visit The Kirsty Stule Library every Tuesday from

3:30pm – 4:15pm for our Open Library Afternoon!

Starting on Tuesday 29th July the library will be open after school from 3:30pm until 4:15pm for parents and carers to come in with students and enjoy our library space.

You’re welcome to choose a book from the shelves to read together or choose one of the Premiers Reading Challenge books from our collection so you can keep adding to your tally. Come on in, choose a book and find a nice little nook to sit in to enjoy your book together.

You can also borrow and return books during this time, so feel free to bring along books that are ready to be returned, so you can choose another to take home.

Jen Ellis will be in the library during this time, so if you have any library questions or just need a book recommendation, she will be very happy to help you.

Hope to see you there to share in our library joy!
