TERM 3 DRAWS TO A CLOSE
As Term 3 comes to an end, we reflect on what has been a truly rewarding and action-packed few months. Highlights have included the outstanding success of our students in both Athletics and the School Production – achievements that have showcased their talent, commitment, and teamwork. On the academic front, we are proud to share that our NAPLAN results and Attitudes to School Survey data continue to be exceptionally strong. These results have even prompted visits from principals and school leaders keen to see our classrooms in action and learn from our teachers’ practice.
Our students and staff have worked tirelessly this term and now deserve a well-earned break. For those heading away, we encourage you to include some quiet, relaxing moments alongside the sightseeing and adventures.
THE COMPASS CONTINUUM IS NOW OPEN
Parents are invited to review the learning outcomes their child has achieved since the Continuum was last opened at the end of Term 2. A Compass post will shortly be sent out with step-by-step instructions for accessing and interpreting the Continuum. Once you’ve had a look, we’re confident you will see the value it brings to tracking your child’s progress over time.
Please note: the Continuum will close at the end of Week 1 next term so that teachers can continue the planning, teaching, and assessment cycle.
BYOD – BRING YOUR OWN DEVICE: Save the Date: Tuesday 14 October, 6:45pm
Our school has successfully run the BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) program for many years. As part of our phased transition from iPads, we now ask parents of incoming Year 3 students to purchase a Chromebook. While the recommended model is a little more expensive than the most basic versions, it has the processing power and applications needed to support students’ learning through Years 3–6.
If your child will be in Year 3 in 2026, this session is for you. (Students entering Year 6 will continue to use iPads for their final year.) We look forward to seeing you at the information evening.
FAREWELL AND THANK YOU – HEIDI
At the end of this term, we will be farewelling Heidi as she retires. Heidi has been a treasured member of our school community, bringing dedication, warmth, and professionalism to her role supporting students with additional needs. She has built strong, trusting relationships with students, families, and colleagues, always going above and beyond to ensure every child feels seen and supported.
We are deeply grateful for Heidi’s years of service and the positive impact she has had on so many young lives. We wish her much joy, good health, and time with her family in this next chapter.
SAFE HOLIDAYS
Thank you for being part of such a successful term. We wish all our families a safe and restful break and look forward to welcoming everyone back on Monday 6 October.
