Newlands Boys Basketball Team Makes History!

Last week, our Newlands boys basketball team competed in the District Finals against St Olivers and delivered an incredible performance. The boys played with great teamwork, determination and skill, finishing the game with a 40–7 victory.

This achievement is especially historic, as it marks the very first time Newlands has won a District Final in interschool sport. It is a proud moment for our school and a reflection of the effort and commitment shown by our students.

Congratulations to Reuben, Darcy, Paxton, Freddie, Lenny, Felix and Charlie. Their hard work, energy and sportsmanship have brought great success and pride to our community.

The next step will be the Division Finals on Thursday 16th October at Latrobe Sports Centre in Kingsbury. This will be another exciting opportunity for the team to represent Newlands and continue their journey.

A special thank you goes to the parents and families who came along to cheer on our students and show their support. Your encouragement from the sidelines made a huge difference and helped lift the team on the day. We also want to thank the staff who have guided and encouraged the boys through their training and matches, building their skills and confidence along the way.

The boys are making history and showing what is possible when they work together. We look forward to celebrating more achievements in the future and wish them the best of luck for the next stage.

Yours faithfully,
