English Literacy-Ancient Greece Adventures

This term, we have reached the end of our exciting Ancient Greece knowledge-building unit in English Literacy. The students have shown fantastic enthusiasm and curiosity as they explored the rich history of Ancient Greece and its fascinating gods and goddesses.

We’ve been busy putting the finishing touches on our Battle of the Gods persuasive writing pieces, where students had to argue why their chosen god or goddess was the most powerful of all. Their creativity and persuasive skills have really shone through!

To bring the learning to life, we've also been enjoying some fun and engaging Greek Gods Readers’ Theatre performances. The students have had a great time stepping into character, using expression and teamwork to bring these mythical stories to the stage.

Well done to all our young historians and writers, your hard work and enthusiasm have made this unit truly memorable!

English Maths – Fractions & Measurement Fun!

In English Maths, we’ve been busy deepening our understanding of fractions. Students have worked hard on ordering fractions, converting between mixed numerals and improper fractions, and exploring fraction equivalences. It's been fantastic to see their confidence grow as they consolidate these key skills!

This week, we kicked off our applied measurement unit, starting with mass. Students have enjoyed hands-on activities comparing different objects, estimating weights, and learning how to read scales accurately. It’s been great to see them apply their mathematical thinking in real-world contexts.

Keep up the great work, everyone!

Spanish Literacy - Persuasive Writing about Recreational Places

This term in Spanish Literacy, our Year 3/4 students have been developing their persuasive writing skills through a colourful and engaging unit on recreational places. They began by exploring vocabulary, persuasive adverbs, and strong sentence structures before planning and drafting their arguments.

Over the past few weeks, students carefully revised and edited their drafts, giving thoughtful peer feedback and refining their ideas. Now, they are publishing their persuasive texts, confidently presenting reasons and evidence to convince others why their chosen recreational place is the best. Their creativity, teamwork, and growing command of persuasive language have been wonderful to see!

Spanish Maths - Fractions, Decimals & Measurement

In Maths, our focus this term has been on fractions and decimals, as well as metric measurement. Students have strengthened their understanding of equivalent fractions and made links to their decimal forms, with some extending their learning by solving real-life fraction problems.

More recently, we’ve been exploringmetric units of measurement, where students have enjoyed estimating and measuring the length of classroom objects, comparing their predictions with actual measurements. Their curiosity and confidence in applying these mathematical concepts in practical activities have been impressive!

¡Buen trabajo a todos nuestros matemáticos y escritores bilingües!
