The last day of Term 3 is just around the corner! And before we all dive into the school holidays (cue the collective parent sigh šŸ˜…), the kids will get the chance to take part in the most epic competition of the year.Ā 

Ā 

TAs part of the World's Greatest Shave event the PFA is excited to launch the very first Amazing Race at Newlands Primary School – an afternoon packed with fun challenges, teamwork, and a little bit of healthy competition around the school grounds.Ā

šŸ“… When: Friday 19 SeptemberĀ  from 2.30

šŸŽ Prizes: You bet – there’ll be a surprise for the winning team!Ā

It’s the perfect way for our kids to finish the term: running, laughing, solving clues, and maybe even discovering a hidden talent for racing (or at least for finding snacks along the way šŸ˜‰).Ā

RULESĀ Ā 

Ā 

Each team must register either online or on the same day before the race.Ā Ā 

Ā 

Each team must select a name for their team. Bonus point: +3 points if your team has a name in Spanish.Ā 

Ā 

Each team must be of a minimum of 5 students and/or parents, and a maximum of 10 participants. Bonus points: +5 points if your team includes students from different grades, i.e. at least one from Foundation or Grade 1/2, at least one from Grades ¾, and at least one from Grades 5/6.  

Ā 

Race ends at 4:00 PM. Each team must get to the finish line before the race ends to win.Ā Ā 

Ā 

Each team will receive a clipboard to record their answers to the challenges encountered along the race.Ā  Each team will get extra points when responding correctly.Ā Ā Ā 

Ā 

The winning team will be the one that arrives before the race ends and collects the most points.Ā
