A Night to Remember
Last Friday evening, a large group of our Year 7 and Year 8 students had the wonderful opportunity to attend a dance hosted by PLC College Croydon and we couldn’t be prouder of how they represented our College. From their manners to their moves on the dance floor, the boys were a credit to themselves, their families, and our community.
It was fantastic to see them step out of their comfort zones, dress smartly, and engage respectfully and confidently with their peers. For some, this was a first-time experience of a more formal social occasion, and the boys rose to the occasion with maturity and enthusiasm.
These kinds of events are about much more than just dancing. They are vital opportunities for students to build important life skills such as communication, confidence, emotional intelligence, and mutual respect. Learning how to interact socially with peers in different contexts, especially with students from other schools, helps our boys grow in empathy, resilience, and self-awareness.
We often speak about developing the whole student and evenings like this play an important role in that journey. It was heartening to witness respectful conversations, polite introductions, shared laughter, and inclusive dancing throughout the night. A huge thank you to PLC College for being such gracious hosts, and to the staff involved: Ms Capobianco, Ms Marrapodi, Mr Mullen and Mr Bottalico in supervising the evening.
We are already looking forward to the next opportunity for our students to connect, grow, and shine.
