Fathers’ Day Masses

Thanks to all involved in the Fathers’ Day Masses last week and a special thank you to Fr John Hayes, Parish Priest of St Martha’s Strathfield, who celebrated both Masses. We focused on the Season of Creation and how our relationship with God is like that of a relationship between child and father. Fr John spoke about St Francis of Assisi needing to leave his father’s business to ensure he could do God’s work – predominantly caring for the Earth and caring for the poor. He went on to talk about how God gives us what we need, but even when it seems tough it can turn into something positive in the end.

We hope all fathers and father figures had a wonderful day on Sunday, and that we all continue to be inspired by the example of St Joseph, patron of all fathers.
