Co-Curricular - Junior Sport Stage 3

I love the change in season from winter to spring. There is so much promise in the air and a renewed sense of livelihood and enthusiasm. Soon we will be back in the swing of summer sport and before you know it, the end of another year. I hope these last few weeks of Term 3 are an opportunity for families to spend time together away from the intensity of College sport.
Last Friday, a small group of athletes (five in total) represented the College for IPSHA at the CIS Athletics Carnival. On a clear, yet brisk day the boys took their opportunities, and all performed well. All our athletes were very competitive; many just missing out on selection in the CIS team, with the top three athletes going through and our boys finishing fifth or sixth. Special mention to Malietau Davis (Year 6) who was selected into the CIS Team for Shot Put (second place) and Discus (first place). I know that the St Patrick’s community will join me in congratulating all these boys.
Boys representing SPC for IPSHA at the CIS Athletics Carnival:
Liam Dunne | Year 5 |
Thomas Luchi | Year 5 |
Malietau Davis | Year 6 |
Leonardo Salvati | Year 6 |
Alessandro Morsello | Year 5 |
Some advanced warning of upcoming events:
Junior School Sport Photos – Monday 22 September. Boys wear playing uniforms for photos, including boots for winter sport. Squads will wear Supporters’ black polo.
Junior School Winter Sport Presentation Evening – Thursday 25 September. The presentation will be held in the College Gymnasium, starting promptly at 6:00 PM. This will include all winter sports, including Debating and Chess. Boys wear full winter uniform, minus the blue cap.
Summer sport recommences – Wednesday 15 October with first training sessions being held in Round 7 (continued from Term 1) on Saturday 18 October.
We are currently in the final stages of completing the draw and training schedule for Term 4, summer sport. We have had a number of new coaches come on board for the summer and as such there have been changes to teams’ coaches and training days. The draw will be available at the end of the week, and I am hopeful of releasing the training schedule next week.
