Athletics Invitational

This past Saturday, St Patrick’s College and Saint Ignatius’ College Riverview co-hosted an Athletics Invitational Carnival at Sydney Olympic Park. With the sun shining and spirits high, it was a fantastic day of competition and camaraderie.

A sincere thank you goes out to all the staff who helped ensure the smooth running of the field events, as well as the coaches and students who both competed and supported the day’s activities. The efforts of the SPC boys were outstanding, with special recognition to James Sukkar and Gabriel Tsokas, who took on a wide range of events and consistently pushed themselves against strong opposition.

We would also like to acknowledge the senior members of the squad for their leadership and encouragement of the younger athletes. In particular, Athletics Captain Deegan O’Brien-Kratiuk and Athletics Vice Captain Jack Taylor, as well as College Vice Captain Gideon Benedict who made a remarkable contribution. Despite being sidelined by injury, Gideon played a vital role in supporting the team—assisting with event coordination and keeping team morale high as the ultimate hype man for our runners.

Summer Sport Trials

As Summer Sport Trials kick off this week, we wish all participants the best of luck as they strive to make a strong start to the season. Trials will run for two weeks, followed by three weeks of grading matches to finalise team selections.

If you find yourself placed in a team that does not reflect your expectations or abilities, we encourage you to speak directly with the coach of the team you aspire to join. Ask for feedback on areas for improvement and guidance on how to progress. Growth often comes from challenge, and this is a great opportunity to develop both skills and resilience.
