Transitions to 2024

There are many processes around the school buzzing at the moment as we work hard to wrap up 2023 in a positive and productive way, whilst also looking ahead to a positive 2024.

Foundation 2024

We have now had 2 very successful transition sessions and it has been wonderful to welcome our new friends. Our Foundation team leader Mrs Natasha Weekes has also been working hard talking to kindergarten staff to learn about our newest Kalinda Kids.

Grades 1-6 2026

Teachers are working hard to build and review class groups for 2024. This is a lengthy task that takes into account friendship choices as well as academic and social needs. Thank you to teachers who always take this task so seriously, putting many hours of thought and consideration into building groups where we know children can thrive.

Towards the end of term, we will  provide opportunity for children to get to know their new classmates and teacher - as well as a printed social story that can help with conversations at home.

Year 7 2024

Our Grade 6 team have been busy meeting with the many destination schools for our students and have enjoyed sharing information about their wonderful personalities, learning styles and academic/social needs. Many independent schools and schools from out of area visit our students or speak to teachers over the phone. Meanwhile, schools in the Maroondah Network have all met together for a day last week to share information about the students. Thank you to our Grade 6 team who are prioritising this important work at a busy time of year. Parents may also find the resource below very useful.

Take care Kalinda, you matter to me.
