Willy Kids are Responsible

Weeks 5 & 6: Willy Kids are Honest

An honest person is someone who is truthful and has a strong sense of fairness. Being honest promotes trust and fosters healthy relationships. Willy Kids know the difference between right and wrong, we stand up for what is right and what we believe in and we respect other people’s rights. Willy Kids avoid breaking rules, however if we do, we fix our mistakes by reflecting on how our actions and words can affect others.

Honest Willy Kids act in a trustworthy way when we:

  • always tell the truth
  • have a different teacher,
  • are interacting with guests of the school
  • are speaking to all school staff and our parent community
  • are representing the school
  • make the right choices when we are walking around the school without a teacher, during recess and lunch and while doing jobs.
  • show and encourage fairness towards others

In the classroom, honest Willy Kids take responsibility for their actions and resources and are ready to learn. We use our initiative, help others and own up to our actions. Being honest makes you feel great about yourself, builds character and lifelong skills.
