On the 16th of October, Isabella Hollins and Clyde Rodbard-Penders represented BSC at the State Championships Track and Field event hosted at Lakeside Stadium. Despite encountering challenging weather conditions, both students delivered outstanding performances.
Isabella's achievements during the competition were remarkable, securing a first place finish in the hurdles and second place in both the long jump and the 200-meter sprint. Isabella will continue her athletics journey at the upcoming All Schools Athletics Championships. Her hard work and determination are admired, and we wish her all the very best. Clyde also exhibited a strong performance in his javelin event, the weather conditions were very tough, but he pushed through. It was lovely to witness the support of his fellow BSC friends at the venue, reflecting the strong sense of camaraderie within the Brighton community.
Madison Stewart continued her journey in Taekwondo, competing at the National Championships in Perth. In a fiercely competitive environment, Madi displayed unwavering determination, earning a well deserved bronze medal. Her commitment to Taekwondo throughout the year has been commendable, and her dedication to the sport is truly inspiring.
The year 7 and 8 PASE students are preparing for the upcoming Kingston Gala Day, scheduled for the 14th and 17th of November. The lawn bowls students have been making regular trips to Coatsville Bowls Club, learning new skills from the dedicated volunteers. During the Gala Day, our college will be strongly represented in a variety of sports, including lawn bowls, handball, lacrosse, super 8s cricket, and ultimate frisbee. It is a fantastic opportunity for the students to showcase their sportsmanship and teamwork, and we are excited to see their performances as it marks the last sporting event of 2023.
